Danish Fuel Portable Speaker

Danish Fuel

Danish Fuel is a portable speaker built inside an upcycled World War Two metal jerry can. Old rust and paint are removed by furnace treatment and sandblasting, and the can is then powder coated in a green satin finish. The front panel is made of molded plywood with a smoked oak top layer. The control plate, feet and marking plates are anodized aluminium. The speaker holds a woofer, a tweeter and a class D amplifier. Sound is played through Bluetooth or an auxiliary cable, and power comes from a battery or mains electricity. Each unit carries a unique identification number.

Danish Fuel Portable Speaker by Rene Sundahl has been recognized as a grand illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Danish Fuel Portable Speaker earned the Silver A' Design Award in Limited Edition and Custom Design in 2023. The A' Limited Edition and Custom Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade that celebrates exceptional design of limited edition products, bespoke watches, custom furniture, bespoke jewelry, personalized fashion collections, modified automobiles, made to order products and more.
