Hot 20S
Hot 20S is a smartphone with a color changing back cover. The back cover combines photochromic ink and luminescent ink in one finish. In daylight, ultraviolet light turns the surface blue violet and reveals a graphic pattern. In a dark environment, the same surface glows blue green and shows the opposite effect. Three color states are produced without any power consumption. The finish is made through twenty processing steps, careful polishing and controlled color mixing. The aim is to add surprise and emotional value to daily phone use.
Hot 20S Smartphone by Lu Ni was featured as an outstanding illustration of service design by the A' Design Award. Hot 20S Smartphone was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Design Quality and Innovation in 2023.
