boART
boART is a cutting board made from leftover Solid Surface material, a hard material usually used for kitchen countertops. Each board combines irregular pieces into faces and expressions, following a scheme prepared by the designer and assembled by the worker, so every board is different. The material is antibacterial, heat resistant and easy to clean. The pieces are cut with a milling machine and joined with food safe glue. Each board can be hung as a decorative panel or laid flat for serving food. The hole used for hanging also measures one portion of spaghetti.
boART Chopping Board by Andrea Cingoli has been recognized as an outstanding illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award. boART Chopping Board earned the Iron A' Design Award in Limited Edition and Custom Design in 2019.
