Moutai Group's - Taiyuan ZHI

Taiyuan ZHI Yuanyi is a liquor bottle packaging design created for the Moutai Group. The design departs from the established Moutai style and keeps only the familiar bottle shape, which is enlarged and made taller. Water is the central theme, since liquor is described as a water that carries emotion. The surface shows a seawater and cliff pattern drawn from ancient official robes, together with traditional auspicious motifs. Waves, standing stones and clouds suggest happiness and long life. The decoration is baked onto the glass bottle.

Moutai Group's - Taiyuan ZHI Packing Design by li zuo has been identified as a grand representation of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Moutai Group's - Taiyuan ZHI Packing Design was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that honors superior design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
