Moment Series Sculpture

Moment Series

Moment is a sculpture series that combines heirloom porcelain with blown borosilicate glass. The antique porcelain cups carry traces of history into the present, while the shaped glass represents a frozen moment. The glass is formed as if a liquid were splashing, so a brief instant is held still. Transparent and opaque colored glass was selected to suit the structure and concept of each cup. Every glass form is blown first and then joined to the porcelain piece. The intent is to preserve special moments within rapidly passing time.

Turning Sculpture

Turning

The wind gliding on the water is dense, discrete and aggregated in the light and air current. The invisible energy in the atmosphere drifts along with the light rhythm, sometimes thick and full; sometimes smooth and unrestrained. Like a graceful dancer, whirling and jumping in a serendipitous time and space, like a streamlined and elegant wind.

Skin Art Installation

Skin

This art installation is composed of 3 airy human figures made of light natural material (skeletons of tree leaves), which seem to float in free space. They resemble costumes that follow the anatomical shape of the body. Leaf skeletons actually are the circulatory system of a tree leaf, that is, the system that supplies them with water and keeps them alive. These figures, with their transparency, at the same time resemble the skin that the snake sheds after it becomes too tight.

Supplement of Original Art

Supplement of Original

White veins in river stones lead to random patterns on the surfaces. The selection of certain river stones and their arrangement transforms these patterns into symbols, in form of Latin letters. This is how words and sentences are created when stones are in the right position next to each other. Language and communication arise and their signs become a supplement to what is already there.

Seaside Wall Decor

Seaside

Seaside is a circular textile artwork made for wall display. The piece is handmade from thick natural cotton cord, knotted in lines to add movement and depth and to suggest undulating waves. The cord is hand dyed with a blend of dyes and natural pigments, producing a calm earthy palette with a subtle gradient. The cotton fibers at the lower edge are cut to complete the smooth round form. The round shape contrasts with straight lined geometric art and furniture. Mounting brackets hold the work slightly away from the wall. Seven diameters are offered, from 50 to 127 centimeters.

Arc Public Art

Arc

The dynamic arc adds a simple flavor to the chaotic city. Two spheres are placed at the bottom of both sides to make the arc have tension. The elegant lines add a sense of interest and beauty to the square city.

River to Ocean Wearable Sculpture

River to Ocean

River to Ocean is a collection of wearable sculptures that can be worn on the body or displayed in a gallery. The collection includes a hat and a vest, presented with textile garments and decorations on shoes. Each piece resembles splashing liquid frozen in time, recalling water drops on flowers or a river colliding with rocks. The forms are designed in 3D software, printed in resin as small parts, then painted and assembled by hand. The large silhouettes remain light in weight. The branches of the vest can be taken apart and rebuilt into new forms.

Glacier Lament Art Installation Lighting Film

Glacier Lament

Glacier Lament is an art installation about the loss of glaciers. Pantone lists four color cards for glacier blue, yet in real glaciers this blue is variable and dynamic. As glaciers disappear, this unique blue also disappears. The blue tones of glaciers in Alaska were sampled and blended, then held in sixty recycled glass vials suspended above a canvas. Each time a glacier calving event occurred, one vial fell. By the end of the exhibition all sixty vials had fallen, forming a painting on the canvas beneath.
